One hundred and twenty-five women with (76.7%) and 38 women without (23.3%) endometriomas were included. The women were divided into two groups: with or without a history of induced abortion. Seromas were defined as fluid masses extending posteriorly in the uterine cavity adjacent to the uterus. Endometriomas were classified as small ( 5 cm 10 cm 15 cm). In women with endometriomas and dysmenorrhea, the amount of pain and discomfort was evaluated using a visual analog scale. Each patient underwent sonographic examination of the pelvis to assess the size and number of endometriomas. One hundred and forty-three patients with endometriomas seen in the infertility unit from 1995 to 2000 were evaluated retrospectively.
